چکیده
The present paper describes experiments carried out on IREQ 1 laboratory cable test bench. Test span arrangement is a 63.15m cable span with termination ends designed so as to minimize energy dissipation. A shaker provides a vertical alternating force to the conductor. During the experiments, a maximum of information on mode shape is collected: location of nodes, antinode amplitude of vibration, relative displacement at 44.5, 89, and 178mm from the last point of contact with the metallic clamp. Several configurations are studied: span equipped with an homogeneous steel cable, span equipped with an ACSR Crow conductor, sometimes in combination with other equipments such as a vibration damper or a local mass, to investigate how the presence of such devices impacts conductor vibrations. It results from these experiments an interesting comparison of two widely used fatigue indicators, the relative displacement Yb 2 (also called “bending amplitude”) and fymax (the product of antinode amplitude of vibration by frequency). Also, collected data gives indirect information on conductor variable bending stiffness.

Electrical and Thermal Analysis of Single Conductor Power Cable Considering the Lead Sheath Effect Based on Finite Element Method
This paper investigates the effect of metallic sheaths on losses and temperature of medium voltage power cables. Two grounding methods of sheaths, including both ends bonding and single point bonding that causes different situations on cable ampacity, are considered. Electrical losses of cables that are main sources of heat are calculated in both conductor and metallic sheath of the cables. She...
متن کاملInnovative approach to strata reinforcement in coal mines with reference to evaluation cable bolts shear strength
There is an increasing need to determine accurately the strength properties of tendons for an effective ground control on mines and underground structures as well as on modelling simulations. The strength properties of cables, used as cable bolts, have been evaluated mainly by their ultimate tensile strength, as this kind of test can be carried out in the field as well as in the laboratory. Onl...
متن کاملOn-line time domain reflectometry diagnostics of medium voltage XLPE power cables
Degradation of XLPE insulated power cables by water-trees is a primary cause of failure of these cables. The detection of water-trees and information about the severity of the degradation can be obtained with off-line measurement using dielectric spectroscopy. In many situations only a limited part of the cable may be degraded by the water-trees. In such a situation a method for localization of...

The necessary electricity of the workshops and buildings (W&Bs;) located at the metro depot are provided by lighting power substation (LPS). To transmit electricity between LPS and W&Bs;, some trenches should be dig and the requisite cables should be located in the trenches. This paper presents a new mixed integer linear programming (MILP) long-term decision model to find ...
